Who this is for

Where Budgeting & Forecasting makes the biggest difference

Many growing businesses budget once a year and then put the file away. A useful plan is updated as the year moves, compared with actual results every month, and explained in a way the board can act on.

Founders moving from instinct to plan

A first budget built from the drivers that really move the business.

Finance teams stretched by month-end

A reporting pack that is quick to update and easy to read.

Boards and investors asking for more

Variance analysis that explains the why, not just the what.

Businesses planning growth or new markets

Scenarios that show the cash and profit impact before you commit.

Approach

How the work runs

Four stages, with a clear output at the end of each.

  1. Discovery

Agree what decisions the plan must support and who will use it.

  2. Model

Build the budget from real drivers: volumes, prices, headcount, costs.

  3. Report

Set up a monthly pack with variances and short, plain commentary.

  4. Rhythm

Hand over a reforecast routine your team can run each month or quarter.

Questions

Common questions

Short answers to what clients ask most. Rules change, so Hassan confirms the position for your business against current official guidance.

What is the difference between a budget and a forecast?

A budget is the plan you commit to at the start of the year. A forecast is your best current estimate of where the year will land. You need both: the budget sets the target, the forecast tells you early if you will miss it.

How often should we reforecast?

Monthly for fast-moving or cash-tight businesses, quarterly for steadier ones. A rolling forecast always looks 12 months ahead, not just to year-end.

What should a board pack contain?

A one-page summary, profit and loss against budget and forecast, cash and balance sheet, a handful of KPIs and short commentary on the biggest variances and what is being done about them.

Do we need special software?

Usually not. Most businesses Hassan works with run their planning in Excel or their existing ERP. New tools are recommended only when the current ones clearly hold the team back.
